Mason, my very dear friend -- I'm just now realizing I've never seen you lukewarm on any subject! Totally with you on this: we should keep our eyes on the prize and not be blown off-path. Happy indeed to hear from you again.
Especially like the phrase, " What makes a Test Good?" I think it is hearing as much as possible about what this test can do. God knows we hear enough about the negative side effects and bad reaction stuff. We even make jokes about how fast the announcer has to talk to get all the bad stuff into a commercial. Lets try a change, and find out and focus on what a test CAN do. No, don't omit the bad crap, but lets hit the good points first, and replace the fast talking announcer with a slow talking doctor. Or a slow laking pharmacist. I am aware of all the negative stuff, but I don't need to hear 5 minutes of glorious stuff, followed by 30 seconds of speed talking and typing of BAD crap. It makes me doubt the medicine more than I should. Thinking about trying to rekindle my meditation candle. About time I tried adding some more positive jestures to my health regime. I hope you are well and good. I miss your glowing face and extra dry wit. mason.
A tangent consideration is how the specimen was taken,/ handled and did it follow the approved process. A had several liquid biopsies done and the lab required the first vial of blood to be discarded as it could contain skin cells from the needle insertion or other contaminants.

Your observation is certainly true. A sample that was collected improperly throws all these statistical niceties out the window.
